Introducing the Briefing team:

Mike Tuffrey, founding editor

Mike has worked in the field of corporate social responsibility since 1987. A chartered accountant by profession, Mike is founding editor of Briefing and a founding director of its publisher The Corporate Citizenship Company.

Mike's career has encompassed being a director of a leading not-for-profit agency and working in parliament as a researcher, speech writer and legislative assistant.

Mike is also active in local government, having served as a leader in an inner city London borough and as an elected member of the Greater London Council. He is currently elected to the London Assembly and serves on the London Sustainable Development Commission. His own voluntary activities include serving as national honorary treasurer of Gingerbread, the lone parent charity, and chairing the management committee of a care-in-the-community charity providing homes and work for people with a severe learning difficulty.

Micael Johnstone, acting editor

Micael specialises in corporate responsibility strategy development and implementation, and CR reporting, working with clients including BMW UK and Southern Railways.

Prior to joining Corporate Citizenship, Micael worked as an investment analyst at Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, providing socially responsible investment advice, ratings and research to fund managers, with a focus on the publishing and restaurant sectors. Micael gained knowledge of international development and sub-Saharan agriculture at UNICEF in New York.

He also has experience in PR and broadcast and print journalism, including time at the BBC in London. Micael has a BA in Journalism from the London College of Printing, with a focus on International Economics and Politics.
