Specification  Responsibilities will include:

Charitable partnerships:
Manage relationships with selected UK charitable partners and schools including:
Identifying and managing partner-related employee volunteering opportunities
Developing innovative ways to broaden the partnership in other non-financial ways, bringing in other departments and UBS expertise where appropriate
Ensuring partners are delivering according to the agreed memorandum of understanding and are meeting agreed objectives
Advise UBS business groups and departments on client related charitable giving and sponsorship
Work closely with other departments (e.g. HR, Diversity, etc.) to help promote the wider UBS culture and ensure alignment of Community Affairs activity.

Project Work:
Assist with the following:
Preparation and follow up of quarterly Community Affairs Committee meetings
Development of non-UK EMEA community affairs strategy and programme including advising Country Co-ordinators in their establishment and development of Community Affairs in their respective countries
Internal and external reporting of the firm’s Community Affairs activities to senior management and external organisations, including measurement according to London Benchmarking Group methodology
Community Affairs EMEA budget and forecast
Implementation of ad hoc charitable giving projects such as Incentive Award waiver scheme
Charitable giving scheme, liaising with UBS departments (Payroll, HR) and external suppliers to ensure efficient delivery of the service and accurate reporting of payroll and matched giving activity
Data management (MicroEdge GIFTS)

Employee Volunteering:
Jointly co-ordinate volunteering schemes for UBS London employees in the UK (c6,000)
Co-manage the Community Affairs Champions’ Network and advise champions on the development of employee volunteering in their respective business areas
Data management (employee volunteering database)

Communications:
Prepare internal and external communications / marketing of Community Affairs for UBS EMEA including
ongoing contributions to UBS’s standard news channels such as the UK intranet homepage.
Updates to the internal and external websites on the firm's charitable activities for EMEA
produce UBS’s applications for external awards in the community affairs field
liaise with other EMEA colleagues on internal and external communications activities
Represent and present on behalf of UBS at internal and external events
Build relationships and share best practice in Community Affairs with counterparts throughout UBS globally


Person Profile:
Competencies and Attributes required
Substantial experience of community affairs and communications from within the private sector
Clear understanding of social issues and the business rationale behind corporate community involvement
Understanding and experience of wider corporate responsibility issues (desirable)
Experience of organising employee volunteering programmes and/or of managing and motivating volunteer activity particularly within the private sector
Knowledge and experience of London Benchmarking Group reporting and measurements (desirable)
Experience of liaising with voluntary organisations and schools (desirable)
Experience of working in financial services (desirable)
Strong focus on delivering agreed outcomes and objectives, meeting budgets and team expectations with a clear understanding of the importance of stakeholder expectations and risk mitigation
Ability to take responsibility for a wide range of issues and drive activity forward with minimal supervision
Ability to set and meet challenging deadlines in a fast paced and demanding environment
Ability to turn work around quickly with a ‘can do’ attitude
Strong project and financial management skills  Effective communication skills (written, verbal and presentation)
Strong IT skills (especially Microsoft Excel)
Good interpersonal and networking skills with the ability to deal confidently with a wide range of backgrounds (e.g. UBS senior management, Hackney teenagers, etc.)
