Mike Tuffrey, founding editor
Mike has worked in the field of corporate social responsibility since 1987. A chartered accountant by profession, Mike is founding editor of Briefing and a founding director of its publisher The Corporate Citizenship Company.
Mike's career has encompassed being a director of a leading not-for-profit agency and working in parliament as a researcher, speech writer and legislative assistant.
Mike is also active in local government, having served as a leader in an inner city London borough and as an elected member of the Greater London Council. He is currently elected to the London Assembly and serves on the London Sustainable Development Commission. His own voluntary activities include serving as national honorary treasurer of Gingerbread, the lone parent charity, and chairing the management committee of a care-in-the-community charity providing homes and work for people with a severe learning difficulty.
Andrew Wilson, editorial director
Andrew is MD of Corporate Citizenship. In addition to client assignments, Andrew has responsibility for strengthening the research and publications undertaken by the company, both in the UK and internationally.
Prior to joining Corporate Citizenship, Andrew was director of the Centre for Business and Society at Ashridge - the international business school. He has worked with senior managers in a range of multinational companies helping them to develop a strategic approach to corporate citizenship and sustainable development. Recent clients include, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, Cemex and IBM. Andrew has also acted as an adviser on corporate social responsibility to the European Commission, and to the British, German and Danish governments.
Recently, Andrew has been working with the Vodafone UK Foundation and a group of leading charities exploring methods for measuring their Social Return on Investment. He also has extensive experience in social reporting and in the past has verified the reports of United Utilities, Camelot and British Land among others.
Francesca Langdon, researcher and acting editor
As well as researching, writing and editing CCB, Francesca provides research assistance across the board at Corporate Citizenship, in all aspects of client work. She has carried out benchmarking research for Standard Life, Sony and ANZ. Francesca has also recently carried out stakeholder engagement work for DHL and Friends Provident. She previously worked as a researcher for the editorial team at The Ecologist Magazine, and graduated with an MA in History and Anthropology at Edinburgh University.
