The last thing business leaders should do is lecture investors about CSR!
The last thing business leaders should do is lecture investors about CSR! Investors are putting at risk either their own money or somebody else's. The key questions have to be: What return can I expect? How well managed is the company? What are the risks it faces? This is where CSR issues come in. Worries about obesity pose risk to food companies. Concern about medicine prices to the pharmaceuticals. Growing public interest in supply chain conditions impacts all companies. Investors need to know a company has the wit to identify the issues, the deftness to respond and the systems to manage the response. Don't label CSR as different, show it's a business risk and a business opportunity that you're managing.
